My orthopedic surgeon recommended "rocker" type shoes after my ankle fusion (as fallout from a very bad break about 12 years ago).Due to swelling and a couple of other factors, finding the right size at a reasonable price was a nightmare until I ran across these.Between the surgery and the way these force your feet to move, the ability to walk without pain is phenomenal.Having worn these for over a year, I am never going back to "normal" shoes. My last pair lasted over 1000km of running before my little toe started peeking out the side of the knit upper.Great shoe; comfortable, cushioned, and yet light enough for picking up the pace a bit (albeit not sprinting or agility training given the minimal upper support). My only minor complaint is that the upper feels slightly loose—slightly. I doesn’t seem to be the wrong size; it’s just that the foot well feels a bit oversized (which is something I never experience as someone with slightly wide feet). My foot can slide forward or to the side ever so slightly inside the shoe when stopping or turning quickly. Feels odd (but not painful).Overall, good enough for me to buy a second pair.Very lightI haven’t bought tennis shoes in years and this is what surprised meGreat so far for jogging and rowingNot back to weights yet but suspect they’ll be greatThey almost feel like slippersThis is my 7th or 8th pair of the 1080s. Love the initial fit and comfort. I have just accepted that the heel construction in the V 9, V10, and V11a are a design fault. Durability is another concern, the excellent cushioning is good for 4 months of jogging. I end up buying three pairs a year. At $150 per pair, it's a worthwhile but expensive investment in health. I would love to see NB correct the heel cup, which has cracked several times within the first two months of use. This shoe has stayed comfortable for over a year of heavy use. Feels like a cloud. Just don’t put it in the washing machine.Pros- The shoe lasts much longer than other brands of running shoes that I have had. No toe holes after 8 month use. My brooks shoes generally get a toe hole in them no matter the style. These new balance shoes started to wear on my left foot on the front side, 8 months of use and abuse.- Great for walking on flat concrete floors for 10 hrs a day. It gives good heel and arch support for me.- Foam padding inserts held up better than competitor running shoe brands after much use. I’ve been through 18 pairs of running shoes in a decade. I’m very lucky to get more than 3 months of constant use out of a shoe.- 1080s fresh foam shoe met my expectations and I purchased another pair. Enjoyed the shoes so much I still wore my old pair of 1080s to not abuse my new pair. For me that speaks volumes about how much I enjoyed this shoe.Cons- the color and styles are okay. Haven’t had anyone show interest in my shoes. For me that kind of supports the mediocre style.- Buy when there is a sale. I’ve seen this shoe sell for $90-$140.This is the only shoe my husband will wear for running. I have to buy several pairs a year for him. These were the best price I found anywhere. Arrived quickly too!Excelente zapatos , livianos y muy bonitosIm an average runner and usually do 3-4 5K runs a week.I decided to invest a bit more than usual and buy these NB 1080V10 shoes. My last 3 runs have all been within 10 seconds of each other for time.Today with these new shoes I managed to knock 1min 20 seconds off my time. The fit is wide which is great as it is sometimes necessary to go up a size inorder to getcomfortable with other brands. The cushioning and energy return from the sole is fantastic and for someone who isnt perhapsthe leanest (like myself -83Kg) the benefit is more pronounced. Some trainers come in wide, narrow and regular variants, like New Balance, but this seller doesn't bother telling you that. I ended up with a 'wide' size, not what I wanted, too big. I would suggest you avoid them unless you want your time wasted. These shoes are amazing and so light and supportive, they wont make you go faster but they will make you want to put them on and go out running (maybe, but do n0t sue me if they do not want to run more) They are a very nice colour, and have really nice laces. I run about 30 to 40 miles per week and run at around 7.30 to 8 minute pace, I am about 12 stone and they provide a very good amount of cushioning.Good shoes, I always get shin pains lately when running, and i am a heavy footed runner, so bought these for the thick foam midsole, and its made a difference, they fit nicely, however it should be pointed out that the size I bought were for the normal fit, and what arrived had a wide label on it, luckily they fit right meaning I shouldve gone for wide anyhow, but I can see issues if they are mixing them upI bought these shoes as they were in the top 20 Runners World shoes of 2019 and I fancied a change from the brand I'd been using for several years. There were initially excellent shoes being very comfortable, light and with plenty of cushioning. However, after 3 months they had already worn quite badly on the rear sole area as can be seen in the photo. The top of the shoes are still perfect and look new. I mostly run on pavements averaging about 30km per week and my usual shoes last about 5-6 months.
