This boot is really comfy, with a ride that feels more like a hefty running shoe than a clunky boot. Exactly what I wanted. The grip is excellent, so far handling ice patches and full-on snow with ease. The warmth is great so far; I’ve worn it for 40min in single-digit temps with only one pair of Smartwool hiking socks and my toes stayed cozy. Walking through slush and areas of 3-5” snow, my feet stayed dry, so the waterproofing works well. The fit is in line with their running shoes, so a 7.5 fits the same as a Fresh Foam 1080 runner, for example. I got my usual running shoe size (which is 1/2 size up from a street shoe for me). If you want more wiggle room for two sock layers, or have wider feet, I suggest going up 1/2 size from running shoes, or 1/2 to full size up from street shoes. My only slight con is that there is no tongue, so the boots can be a little hard to get on/off and tighten. I have pretty narrow ankles/heels so it’s not too bad, but it’d be easier with a traditional tongue/lace system. Same goes for tightening; I need a tight lock to stop my heels from slipping up in most shoes and that’s harder to do with a solid boot instead of a tongue. Luckily, the upper material is flexible so you can cinch the laces up pretty well.Overall, awesome boots. Warm, comfy and waterproof for handing daily winter wear and some snowy plodding with the kids!
