Great shoes, wide toe box to allow toes to splay which is important to me, but the overall width is deceiving because the sole is much wider than the wearable width. To help others with sizing: having had my feet measured using a Brannock device I found that the length of my feet measure as Women's size 9 however the arch length measures as Women's shoe size 10 (measuring the length from heel to ball of foot). This means my shoe size falls between Women's 9 and 10 depending upon the shoes. My feet measure as A width and I have narrow heels. It is hard to find shoes that fit and I had to try multiple sizes before I found the right fit in these shoes. Oddly it was Women's size 10 C/D that fit my feet in this shoe. I ended up buying them on Zappos since the size I needed was only available from Marketplace sellers on Amazon and I was not willing to pay for return shipping having already tried multiple sizes in this particular style.Net/net - shoe length is normal, width is very narrow despite the overall appearance of a very wide forefoot. The shoes have nice cushioning. In person I think the color is more of a dark Navy rather than true Black. As a tip: despite the shoes that I ended up with being a Women's Wide width on feet that measure as somewhat Narrow I found that the shoes are most comfortable if I do not tighten the laces too much. After putting a shoe on my foot (before lacing) I position the foot at about a 45 degree angle (toes facing up) and tap the back of the shoe on the floor. The tapping action seats the heel of my foot into the back of the shoe. When lacing I allow a finger space between each cross of the laces so as not to over tighten. In doing this I find the shoes very comfortable and a good fit.One final note: the socks that I wear with these shoes are "Feetures! Elite Light Cushion" - best socks ever because they are made with targeted compression (which means the socks stay in place and do not bunch up). This is my first new balance experience coming from the asics nimbus for years. I didn't like the direction of the nimbus lately and could only put 80 miles on them before I felt they cushioning was wearing. I really really love these. It was an acquired taste but I am so glad I took a chance. I was looking for a neutral shoe with really good cushion. I have run several half marathons and was on the search for the next shoe to keep me injury free and something shock absorbing on concrete and uneven gravel. A friend says she swore by these in her training to keep her body injury free. These aren't the lightest, but neither is the asics nimbus. The sole has plush cushioning and the base is wider than I was used to, making it a more stable ride. (Big plus, less effort to stabilize on a run and not overly supportive-uncomfortable for me) This shoe was a new feel for me along with the absence of the plush cupped heel that I had with the nimbus. (New feel, but still great) There are NO spots that rub in these shoes..that's unheard of for me!. These breathe way better than my nimbus. In fact I am guilt of wearing these without socks sometimes because of the comfort and airy feel these have. I love the roomy toebox and feel like my foot is perfectly hugged in place. I have long toes and the arch hits me just right. I look forward to putting these on everytime. I tried the last version of these on and this version of the 1080 is WAY better. The laces also have a little stretch to them and I think that helps tremendously to adjust to exact size of your foot. I'm usually a 9 in all shoes but in running shoes I'm typically a 9.5 and I went with that. Sizing ran the same as asics in my opinion.I was looking for a shoe that would help combat my overpronated feet (not using it for running) and this was a in the top 5 for best shoes. This shoe does do a pretty good job, but it isn't perfect... or near it. The style is nice. It is lightweight and it comes in some great colors. Fits comfortably, is true to size and it doesn't make my feet look like "duck feet". Great tapering in the front of the shoe. It has a flex cloth top, great for the toes as they are not smashed down under leather. It's breathable and the cushion is alright. I was hoping that this would make my feet feel better, but it isn't quite there yet. Hoping that breaking them in better will help. One big con that I have is that it seems all my New Balance shoes have the heal rim that breaks down. It's so tough to get my foot in once the heal rim area breaks. Usually this happens the first time I put the shoe on...and as usually, this one did the same thing. Very hard and annoying to keep trying to fix this part of the shoe every time. This is why I only give it a rating of 4.I actually ordered these for casual wear because I have finicky plantar fasciitis. My flare ups had been more frequent so I thought I’d try these. I actually have two pair of new balance vazee rush and I love them! I’ve always loved new balance and thought you can’t go wrong with this brand! I thought they were just a bit clunky for casual everyday wear so they are now work sneakers. I ordered a 10.5 but I normally wear a size 10 just to have a little more room in the toe. I felt like they were a little on the wider side so that’s why I just use them as work shoes. I work in a hospital so standing and walking on hard concrete floors def takes a toll on your feet after some years. I typically wear dansko clogs so these are my swap out shoes when those clogs make my feet tired. The heel support is great it’s not flat and not too springy it feels just right and they don’t seem to bother the arches of my feet. Overall I’m happy with the sneakers :)Perfect trainers for running. I have always used 1080's (in all their guises) for running. I have slim feet but like a wide toe box. Any other brand/model aggravate an old injury but not these. A super supportive and comfortable ride. I had some issue with a frayed lace and couldn't source a matching replacement for the uncommon colour, but otherwise cannot fault them.Extremely comfortable. However I have used all the 1080 series running trainers and found them the best fit for me. Whenever I try another brand I get problems with either the ball of the foot or the nerves between my toes. The new fresh foam adds bounce to the trainers.Perfect for the wider foot and true to size, as they are neutral I was able to use my orthotics in them and they fit in easily, very happy overall, very comfortable, look fab and will definitely buy moreI like these trainers for the colour and fit & D fit as requested. Heel part is very flimsy and each time I put my foot in trainer the heel bit is down under my heel. Expensive runners this shouldn’t happen. These fit my daughter perfect, She has wide feet I bought half a size bigger so she has a good inch to grow!
